- Note biografiche: BAGATIN, FR. TARCISIO "TERRY" former pastor of Holy Ghost parish in Providence, died in Italy on November 20, 2014 in the Scalabrini Retirement Center of Bassano del Grappa, Vicenza. He was born in Thiene (Vicenza, Italy) on April 5, 1928 and professed his vows in the Scalabrinian Congregation on September 4, 1946. He was ordained on March 19, 1954. He served for 58 years, before his retirement in 2006, in several Scalabrinian missions in Canada and in the United States providing pastoral service to Italian and Hispanic immigrants. He began his ministry in 1955 in All Souls Church, Hamilton, ON, Canada and continued to Fredonia, NY and New Haven, CT before returning to Canada to minister to the scattered Italian communities of the greater Montréal Metropolitan area. He was pastor of St. Anthony parish in Buffalo, NY (1967 75), of St. Anthony parish in Hamilton, ON (1975 78), of St. Michael parish, New Haven, CT (1978 89), of Our Lady of Pompeii parish, NYC (1989 92), of Holy Rosary parish, Washington DC (1992 1996), of St. Peter parish in Syracuse, NY (1996 2001) and finally of Holy Ghost parish in Providence, RI (2001 06). Upon his retirement he also served as parochial vicar in St. Rocco parish in Johnston, RI. A memorial Mass will be offered on Saturday, December 20 at 5 PM at St. Bartholomew Church (297 Laurel Hill Ave. Providence, RI).
